The trademark group offers a full range of legal services related to the selection, use, clearance, registration, licensing, and transfer of trademarks for a client base comprised of multinational corporations, regional businesses, and local enterprises. Emphasis is placed upon providing practical advice and useful strategies for protection and enforcement of rights, both domestic and abroad, based upon our clients’ individualized interests, needs and resources.
A substantial portion of our day-to-day work is devoted to federal trademark registration practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, where we file and prosecute applications for registration and litigate or otherwise resolve registration disputes in the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Additionally, in order to ensure global protection of our clients’ rights, we work with a network of firms outside the U.S., with whom we have a long and successful history.
Our trademark attorneys have prior government experience working in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and are also seasoned private practitioners, in both large and small law firms. They are active in and have been appointed to a number of important leadership positions in the International Trademark Association (INTA), including, most recently, serving as the Chair of INTA’s Trademark Office Practices Committee, responsible for determining policy for and directing and managing the Association’s relations with, among others, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and the Trademark Offices of the European Community, China, and African nations.
